A reaction to a friend’s blog:
When we ask you out for coffee, we just want to have a simple, friendly, non-weird conversation to clear the air and find out a few things. The problem is that some Christian women already flagged the words “coffee, going out, having dinner” in their vocabularies. When they hear these words, they sound their alarms, go on red alert and scamper away to hide their hearts in the high heavens to keep them safe from us. We haven’t so much as breathed a word and they automatically suspect that we are serial heart-breakers who are out to hurt them in most horrendous ways.
It’s just coffee, my dear, just coffee. Hearts don’t break over cups of coffee.
