Disappointed with the Elections?

Rest your weary hearts Filipino Christians. God is still on His throne. You have voted according to your honest conscience. The outcome of the elections is now in the hands of God.

Yet you say to yourself, “How about those candidates who don’t seem fit to be in power?”

Have you forgotten that the Lord our God has the power to override the hearts of kings (Prov. 21:1)? The rulers of the nations are powerless in stopping the outworking of the plans of God. Pharaoh could not hold Israel back when it was time for them to go. Cyrus allowed Israel to go back to the promised land because the Lord said so. Herod could not kill baby Jesus because there’s a Sovereign power in heaven preventing him from doing it.

The power of our God is greater than the politics that we see with our naked eyes. His purposes are deeper than our perception. Just when you think that things are becoming bleak because you didn’t get the election outcome that you prayed about, look to the God who is enthroned above the circle of the earth. He is seated on His throne, unrattled by the commotions of men on earth. He is the One who is really in power. He can uproot self-appointed rulers and reduce them to nothing if He wants to (Isaiah 40:23). Despite the election results, the destiny of this nation and of the entire Filipino race is secure because ultimately the God of the Heavens is the One watching over this nation.

This is our security. This is our hope. This is the reason we can go to bed in peace tonight.
