At the window of my house
I looked down through the lattice.
I saw among the simple,
I noticed among the young men,
a youth who had no sense.
He was going down the street near her corner,
walking along in the direction of her house
at twilight, as the day was fading,
as the dark of night set in.

Then out came a woman to meet him…
She took hold of him and kissed him

With persuasive words she led him astray;

little knowing it will cost him his life.

Proverbs 7: 6-23

Two words that must be associated with worship: revelation and response. Every time we come to God in an attitude of worship, it must be because we are responding to His revealed Word. Without such revelation, our worship lacks reason and substance.

Many of us are familiar with Shema, the famous Jewish verse found in Deut. 6:4-5.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your might.”

A linguistics professor was lecturing his class. 

“In English,” he explained, “a double negative forms a positive. In some languages, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative.” 

“However,” the professor continued, “there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative.” 

A voice from the back of the room piped up. “Yeah, right.”
